Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she earned an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only daughter of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a household worker. Her childhood was spent in a home which included four brothers. Although she was a child with a aspiration to become a journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that she began modeling. After moving from New York City and gaining experience with commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first appearance acting was as a young girl in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies and dramas after that. The professional life she has had is more successful than her private life. The skilled actor been battling alcoholism and has had two failed marriages. The year 2005 was the time she was denied custody of the sole child she was born with.
